- In the following is the word “athlete” used for both genders.
- The Impact Throwdown (short ITD) is a fitness challenge open to everybody. To take part, terms & conditions have to be accepted by all athletes. By participating in the ITD the terms & conditions, privacy policy and waiver are accepted by the athletes.
- The organization of the Impact Throwdown is mentioned below as ‘ITO’.

A. Athletes
- Athletes participate at their own risk in the qualifier, and – if they have qualified – to the finals.
- Athletes have to be 18 years or older. Athletes younger than 18 can only take part in the qualifiers or finals if a legal representative of the athlete provides written consent and both athlete and legal representative have agreed to these Rules.
- All athletes are responsible for arranging all the necessary and statutory insurance. If an insurer in a particular case does not (fully) pay out on a claim, the athlete cannot forward the eligible damage on to the ITO.
- The ITO cannot be held liable in any way for any injury, including explicitly sports injuries caused during the qualifier rounds or finals.
- The athlete declares that he / she knows the risks of the movements, the WOD and participation in the ITD and the athlete himself is responsible for exceeding (mental or physical) boundaries.
B. Movement Standards
- The rules relating to the movements to be performed by the athlete are prescribed by ITO. These regulations are binding and conclusive.
- ITO will demonstrate the required movements and explain these to both athletes and judges.
- If an athlete has a disability and therefore cannot continue with a standard motion as directed, the movement does not count (and will be considered as a ‘no rep’).
C. Buddy Team
- Each athlete will have to form a buddy team. A buddy team consists of two persons. When registering for the ITD qualifier, you will register as a buddy team (“Buddy Team”).
- This Buddy Team cannot be changed throughout the ITD. If a Buddy Team reaches the finals, only this Buddy Team can participate in the finals. Mutual exchange of athletes between Buddy Teams is not allowed.
- The change of a Buddy in a Team after registration is not permitted. If another athlete joins a Buddy Team during the ITD finals who is not named on the qualifier registration of that Buddy Team, the ITO can disqualify the whole Buddy Team from participation in the ITD.
D. Code of behavior during competition, decisions of judges
- Athlete complies with fair and sportsmanlike behavior at any time during the competition. Unsportsmanlike behavior (like cheating), conflicts, disturbing or rather being a disturbance to another athlete and discrimination against other athletes, sponsors or the organizer will be punished with suspension, disqualification and/or exclusion from the ITD. This applies to other actions or behaviors, which could be interpreted as harmful to the ITD itself, other parties or prevent other parties to take part in ITD in a fair and equal way.
- The use of drugs or stimulants is strictly prohibited. The ITO may disqualify an athlete if they have sufficient grounds and it is sufficiently plausible that an athlete has used drugs or other stimulants.
- Decisions of both judges and organizer are binding and final.
E. Qualifier
- Registration for the qualifier can be done at www.ohanahrowdown.nl until the date shown on the website.
- The qualifiers for the ITD will consist of a series of workouts which will be provided online on www.ohanahrowdown.nl shortly before the start of the qualifiers. Descriptions will contain relevant workout criteria, like:
- Prescribed exercises including start and end position. As well as forbidden execution, technique or equipment.
- Prescribed number of repetitions or repetition scheme and/or time.
- Prescribed equipment (if necessary).
- Prescribed weight in kilograms (if necessary). If the athlete uses lbs-weights, athlete has to convert in kilograms (1 kg = 2,2 lbs).
- Time limit
- The Buddy Team participates together in the qualifiers.
- The total score of the Buddy Team must be submitted online via the website (www.impactsportsacademy.nl/throwdown/qualifier). It determines the final ranking of the Buddy Team and the possibility of participating in the finals. The submission of the scores is the final entry for the finals (if Buddy Team qualifies).
- Organizer has the right to demand a video for any reason, without specific reason. The athlete has 48 hours to submit the video to the organizer after having being asked (countdown starts when the organizer has sent out the email). If the video is not submitted in time, the score will be deleted without any possible recourse.
- A video is required for athletes in any division. Video has to show the entire workout and standards have to be visible in a good way.
- If there are one to five bad repetitions, the score will be adjusted by one to five repetitions. If it is a timed workout it will be adjusted accordingly.
- If there are more than five bad repetitions the score will be reduced by 15%. If it is a timed workout it will be adjusted accordingly.
- If the Video shows lacks majorly the score will be disqualified.
- The participant will have the chance to redo und submit the workout again, however the participant has to make sure of the applying deadline.
- By submitting scores from the qualifier, it is required that the complete Buddy Team (both athletes together) is available for the finals.

F. Qualification scoring system
- Scoring of each workout of ITD is based on fastest time, most repetitions or highest weight and will be shown on the website. Every incorrect or invalid repetition according to standards will be judged as a no-rep.
- If the workout is based on fastest time, the ranking will go from fastest to slowest time in which the entire workout is finished. If the workout is based on highest number of repetitions, the ranking goes from highest to lowest number of repetitions. If the workout is based on highest weight, the ranking goes from highest to lowest weight.
- For the Buddy Team it will be the sum of the two scores. The team manager has to make sure that the sum is correct und that they submit all videos if required.
- Ranking follows the following system: Buddy Team that is placed first gets one point, second gets two points, third gets three points, … etc. The team that has the lowest sum of points after all qualification workouts is first, the one with the second lowest sum of points is second etc.
- Every athlete/team is responsible for upholding the standards. Additionally, a judge has to be present during the entire workout. The Judge has to verify movement standards, count repetitions and validate the score after the workout.
- Submission of scores in the online competition is based on honor and honesty. Final result of the online qualification will be determined by the organizer following the rules of ranking.
- The ITO can independently decide to place a Buddy Team in a different class than the class where the Buddy Team was assigned based on the ranking in the first place.
G. Reserve list Finals
- The Buddy Teams that have not qualified for the finals are placed on a reserve list by the ITO. When a qualified Buddy Team cannot participate in the finals, the highest ranked Buddy Team on the reserve list is eligible to participate in the finals. A Buddy Team is approached in such a case by the ITO. If a Buddy Team does not respond within two working days, the next Buddy Team on the list will be approached by the ITO. The decision of the ITO is at their discretion and is final. Athletes have to accept the decision of the ITO.
- If a Buddy Team withdraws (eg because one of the athletes is prevented from participating) this will result in an open place in the finals. Example: If the Buddy Team is placed in category Elite, a Buddy Team shifts from category RX to Elite and there will be a vacancy in the RX class for the first Buddy Team placed on the reserve list.
H. Qualifying for the finals
- Buddy Teams 1st up to and including 10th place after the qualifiers will be invited by email by the ITO for the finals in the Scaled and RX divisions
- During the finals the Buddy Teams participating must be recognizable. Persons who cannot be identified as a participant may be removed from the site by the ITO.
I. Costs
- Athletes agree to the following commitments:

- The registration of the qualifier is EUR 45,- per Buddy Team (early bird is € 30,-) . Any costs made by the box owner and asked for by the box owner will not be reimbursed. The payment of a Buddy Team must be received by the ITO before the end term shown on www.impactthrowdown.nl or as requested by e-mail.
- Participation in the finals will cost EUR 75,– per Buddy Team. The payment of a Buddy Team must be received by the ITO before the end term shown on www.impactthrowdown.nl or as requested by e-mail.
- Late payment can result in a Buddy Team no longer being entitled to take part in the finals. ITO will approach a Buddy Team on the reserve list who can participate in the finals, all in accordance with regulations as described in article G.
- Facilities, including refreshments and dressing area are available at the site. Drinks, food, etc on site will be charged and handled by the local facility.
J. Scores
Qualifiers
- In one of the WOD’s of the qualifier both an end result / final score (for example, time, number of reps, a certain weight) and a tiebreaker (a time) has to be measured by the judges. The tiebreaker is used only in case of a possible tie. The ITO will assign a tiebreaker to one specific WOD. On the other WOD’s solely a final result / final score has to be measured by the judges.
- The score and the tiebreaker that the Buddy Team has achieved in the qualifier WOD has to be forwarded by mail to the ITO .
- The qualifiers will be measured not only by the final result (eg, time, number of reps, a certain weight) but also by the tiebreaker.
- A ranking is made of each score achieved by the Buddy Team in the qualifier WOD. The ranking of a Buddy Team in a WOD indicates the number of points that the Buddy Team has achieved (eg. Number 1 gets 1 point, number 26 gets 26 points, etc.).
- All points are accumulated in the qualifiers per Buddy Team. The total score determines qualification for the finals and the class in which the Buddy Team may compete in the finals.
- In the event of a tie between two Teams, the tiebreaker is used to decide what the relative ranking is of the Teams.
- If two Buddy Teams have the exact same final score and the same tiebreaker during the qualifiers, then these Buddy Teams will receive the same number of points and the same ranking (for example: the two Buddy Teams will share second place and the next Buddy Team will take fourth place).
Finals
- Each workout will be judged by an official judge who will check all criteria regarding workout and ranking. Each Buddy Team/athlete has to sign the scoring card. A signed scoring card is valid and cannot be contested. Decisions of judges are final and binding.
- Winners will be determined by lowest sum of points. Ranking follows the following system: Buddy Team that is placed first gets one point, second gets two points, third gets three points, … etc. The Buddy Team that has the lowest sum of points after all workouts is first, the one with the second lowest sum of points is second etc.
- If two Buddy Teams have the same final score, the ranking of the last WOD determines which of the two Buddy Teams ends higher.
- Final scores will be announced by the ITO via www.impactthrowdown.nl and through regular communication (bulletin boards, etc.) at the final event.
- Scores aren’t communicated by any other platform that is not associated with the ITO.
K. Judges
- The scores in the finals will be registered by the judges. The judges will determine the fixed result but are entitled to change the result after irregularities. A prize shall be returned to the ITO by the Buddy Team when its results are revised and it appears that a Buddy Team is no longer entitled to a prize.
- The finals are accompanied by a head judge and three other independent judges.
- The judge is always right, unless the head judge decides otherwise.
L. Final field
- All participants and spectators will be invited by the organizers of the ITO to move from an area if needed.
- It is not allowed to advertise without the prior consent of the ITO or engage in business activity in the ITD field.
- The ITO assumes no liability for lost clothing or other belongings of athletes. This also applies to personal possessions which have been left in the ITD changing facilities.
- The athlete has to follow the instructions given by the ITO, or ITO persons in ITO uniform, or otherwise apparently belonging to the ITO.
- The ITO has the right to disqualify an athlete and / or pull out of the race if the athlete does not abide by the rules, or behaves in an unsporting or improper manner, or if considered necessary due to medical reasons, or disrupts the orderly progress of the ITD. In such a case, the entire Buddy Team will be taken out of the finals.
- Athletes are expected to not cause damage to the property of others and leave no waste; also publicly urinating is prohibited.
- Any regulations not covered here will be determined by the ITO and must be abided by.
M. Prices
- The prizes are provided by sponsors of the ITO.
- An athlete or Buddy Team cannot claim a refund in return of his prize / prizes. No fees or other costs are paid (back) to the winners.
N. Cancellation ITD
- The ITO may cancel the finals (hereinafter “Cancel”), or on the day of the finals withdraw (“Withdraw”). The ITO may Cancel or Withdraw the ITD if there are unforeseen circumstances and / or force majeure, which includes in every case (expected) extreme weather conditions. It is unilaterally decided by the ITO what constitutes severe weather. It is the responsibility of the ITO to determine when the risk of accidents or dangerous situations are increased due to extreme weather conditions or force majeure. The decision of the ITO to Cancel or Withdraw the ITD in the event of such conditions is final.
- In the event of a Withdraw or Cancel, the registration costs incurred by the athlete are non-refundable. If the event is postponed to another date there will be no refund of the registration costs in case a team is not possible to participate on the new date.
- Costs made by the athletes for the qualifier are non-refundable under any circumstances.
O. Intellectual property rights
- All intellectual property rights and material made by the camera crew of the ITO (both photos and film material) is property of the ITO.
- Photographers or cameramen who do not belong to the camera crew of the ITO and which have not received express permission from the ITO, shall not be permitted between the athletes or on the site. The ITO is entitled to send these people away.
- Athletes taking part in the finals, or located on the site of the ITD automatically agree to waiver their portrait rights.
- We are allowed to upload and publish this content and videos you transferred to us on our website and YouTube or Vimeo. You accept that we are allowed to hand this content on to our partners and sponsors. Partners and sponsors are allowed to upload and publish to public to promote ITD and their support.
- We are allowed to use photos on our media platforms.
- We are allowed to duplicate and broadcast videos and photos by using digital storage and retrieval media – regardless technical equipment.
- If you transfer videos to us in which other persons are visible you declare that you have their approval (underage person approval of parent or legal guardian) for making, publishing and forwarding and that their personal rights are not offended.
- Contravention will lead to deletion and to exclusion from competition. Enforcement of other requirements remain hereof unaffected.
- Acceptance is effective worldwide and with no time limit.
